Samsung lanserer GX-1S systemkamera

Alt tyder på at det er Pentax *istDS2 som er basiskameraet for Samsung GX-1S, siden skjermen er 2,5" stor og siden kameraet har 11 fokuspunker. Den eneste forskjellen jeg kan se hittil, er at Samsung ikke nevner elektrisk fjernkontroll som opsjon, ei heller at kameraet har sådan kontakt. Dette kan naturligvis være mangelfullt dataark, men kan også være en bevisst forskjell.

I alle tilfeller er det snakk om et meget velutstyrt kamera, med 6 Mp oppløsning, serieopptak av åtte bilder i JPEG eller fem bilder i RAW med 2,8 b/s, 16-felts evaluerende lysmåling (koblet til objektivdata og AF-informasjon), samt sentrumsdominert gjennomsnitt og punktmåling.

At Samsung mener alvor med sitt engasjement, forsterkes av det faktum at de har utviklet to egne zoomobjektiver med Pentax K-fatning, en 18-55 mm f/3,5-5,6 (tilsvarende 28-84,5 mm ved 35 mm format) og en 50-200 mm f/4-5,6 (tilsv. 76,5-306 mm). Objektivene bærer navnet Schneider-Kreuznach D-Xenon, men det er ganske opplagt at objektivene ikke er produsert ved den legendariske objektivfabrikken i Tyskland. I beste fall er det Schneider som har konstruert optikken, mens Samsung har produsert objektivene. Sannsynligvis vil objektivene også passe på et Pentax *istD, DS og DL kamerahus.

Selv om objektivene synes å være tro kopier av Pentax-objektivene, hevder Samsung at de er fra egen produksjon. Muligens er det snakk om egenutviklet coating, slik tilfellet har vært med bl.a. Zeiss-optikk på Sony kameraer, som også gikk under navnet Canon og HP, men som visstnok var produsert av Tamron. For det kan da ikke være slik at Samsung også har produsert Pentax-objektivene?

Importøren Aronsen AS forteller at levering av GX-1S er ventet i mars, men de har foreløpig ingen prisantydning. Siden modellen synes å være den videreutviklede utgaven av Pentax *istDS, vil prisen i stor grad avhenge av objektivprisene.

SAMSUNG announces the first digital SLR

Samsung Techwin now advances into the digital SLR (Digital Single Lens Reflex) camera market.

On Jan. 17, Samsung Techwin (CEO: Joong Koo, Lee) announced that it would launch the interchangeable lens digital SLR camera ‘GX-1S’, which was developed in collaboration with Pentax, at the end of this month.

Interchangeable lens digital SLR camera ‘GX-1S’ is portable and has excellent mobility because of its compact design and light weight of 505g. Since it adopts the pentaprism, providing a clear and bright viewfinder, camera view during photographing is bright and crisp. In addition, the big sized 2.5 inch TFT LCD (210,000 pixels) is selected for clear screen and the ISO 3200 is supported for high sensitive photographing in indoor environments.

Samsung Techwin announced its vision of "becoming a top-class Digital Camera manufacturer" in May 2005. Since then, Samsung Techwin has seen strong success and rapid sales growth through the launch of innovative slim style digimax i5(& i50mp3) and strong marketing.

The GX-1S will utilize the new advanced Schneider Kreuznach D-Xenon lens system and Pentax's lens KAF bayonet mount technology - all Pentax DSLR lens will be mountable on the GX-1S.

The large TFT colour LCD screen (2.5 inch and 210K pixels) and Pentaprism technology ensure a clear and bright view. The field of view is 95% with magnification at 0.95x (50mm F1.4 lens).

Focusing, Shutter & Flash
